the Golden Globes look great! Not only do people want to wear "the little black dress" since it is the most flattering of all looks, but it is a symbol to support women and fight sexual harassment. A win/win! The guys look great wearing it too!

(52,241 posts)I watched it and looked at her in particular. After I read your post I thought that my TV had color problems. I was a fashion illustrator at one point in my life and notice certain things through that lens. I just googled it to verify and she did wear black and white, not navy.

I DID notice bright red dresses and such so not everyone chose to wear black. I personally would have for the symbolism and for the aesthetics.

i loved it. there is a thing about black, the way it sucks in light instead of reflecting it, that is very different.
when the chi sox were running up to their ws championship a few years ago, they had 3 do or die games in a row. they asked their fans to wear black- a black out- they called it.
it was an amazing spectacle to me. the pics that ran on the front page of the papers were unlike any i had ever seen. the way it sucked up all the light just made you get sucked in.
and as a gesture, i love it. when we talk about all these assholes, we also should be talking about all the talent that they chased off to be where they are. women, shoved off the stage, literally. women whose careers and contributions were literally killed off.
i agree w oprah. time is up. a new day is dawning.
