(6,339 posts)(about fifteen years ago, or so it seems), a friend who is running for the West Virginia House of Delegates had a fundraiser. My sister and I made suffragist costumes (only the Brits were called suffragettes; in the US that was a derogatory term).
The plan was that we would be able to wear the costumes for a variety of 19th amendment celebrations. Oh, well, life goes on!

Back in October, I saw a woman dressed in her suffragist costume as she escorted trick-or-treaters from place to place. I say keep the costume going all this year and beyond.
