For all you fans of the film West Side Story: upcoming 60th anniversary screenings nationwide:

For all you fans of the film West Side Story:

Courtesy of Fathom Events (fathomevents.com) and Turner Classic Movies, there will be 60th Anniversary screenings of the old, original 1961 film version of West Side Story, in select movie theatres, nationwide, here in the United States, on Sunday, November 28th, and on Wednesday, December 1st. As a devout fan of the old original 1961 film version of West Side Story, I plan on attending both screenings. No theatre locations or times have been set as of now, and tickets are not yet on sale, however. I'm watching and waiting, however.

I wore out at least a couple of CD's of the soundtrack to the original 1961 film version of West Side Story.

CD's can and do wear out pretty quickly. I knew one guy, however, whose mother came into his room and deliberately broke at least two copies of the LP record that he had of the soundtrack to the original 1961 film version of West Side Story.

I, too saw the trailer to the upcoming film version by Steven Spielberg. I wasn't exactly bowled over by it.

Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, music by Leonard Bernstein.?
I saw a production on Broadway in the 1980s that featured the original choreography of Jerome Robbins. The dancing literally took my breath away.

I saw a production in NYC's Lincoln Center of the stage version of West Side Story at around Thanksgiving time, back in 1980. It was a very good production, overall.
