Chariots of Fire deserved all its accolades.
Unbelievably, it was the only film for which Ian Holm was nominated for an Academy Award (Best Supporting Actor).

Twice in a Lifetime deserves more attention, and it provides another example of the sole Academy Award nomination for a great actor (Amy Madigan, for Best Supporting Actress).
