Survey: Nearly half of Americans rate healthcare as poor or failing
Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Nearly half of Americans give the healthcare system an extremely poor or failing grade in the 2022 West Health-Gallup Healthcare in America Report released Thursday.
A representative sample of 5,500 Americans was polled and asked to grade the healthcare system A for "excellent," B for "good," C for "satisfactory," D for "poor" and F for "fail." The polling data revealed that a plurality of Americans, about 114 million when extrapolated from the sample group, rated the overall healthcare system a D or an F.
The respondents were asked to give individual grades for accessibility, affordability, equity and quality of care.
There were demographic differences between responses, with people of color generally rating the equity of healthcare lower than White Americans. Some 66% of Black Americans gave the healthcare system a F or a D for equity, while 53% of White respondents gave it an F or a D.

(21,066 posts)They said he'd be around for "a very long time".
He was dead 3 mos. later.
They did not do a damned thing except demand money upfront for his care at the end.
In the meantime, the great "system" in our country was trying to clean us out before he died. I didn't play their game.
I paid for the whole thing with no help from anyone yet we are fully insured!
FUCKERS!
They lie, oh yes they do!
They'll say anything to push it all off on the likes of YOU.

(11,543 posts)They have taken over all the hospitals and most of the doctors clinics in my county. No abortion care, no dignified end of life. A good friend died slowly and painfully from talc caused cancers because of the religious zealots in our Healthcare locally.

(24,013 posts)paying $1955 per month with a $4000 per person annual deductible, I cannot shoulder much more in insurance premiums. Im sure we will have to pay well over $2000 per month next year because my husband is over 60...thats the next big leap in rates. Basically all of our healthcare is out of pocket. Theres no competition for individual insurance plans in Montana. There are no options. It makes me so angry. Need to get in to a specialist? It could takes months. I scheduled a basic dermatology appoint for my husband and it took 4 months to get him in.
