I brought Randy in as an act. I think the venue was only 3500 people so it wasn’t hard to fill.

It was within 5-6 years of his writing “Short People”. I remember picking him up at the airport and thinking about that song and its lyrics as we walked through the airport and then later at the concert hall. The reason I thought so much about the song was that Randy is a little short guy and I am tall. I didn’t want him to feel awkward.

“Short people got no reason to live.”

Had I picked up Randy in that time-frme...first thing I would have asked..."want to smoke a joint?" He'd probably would have said, "Fuck off", but still.........
