Related: About this forumEva Cassidy - Autumn Leaves
Tomorrow is the first day of autumn.
Eva Marie Cassidy (February 2, 1963 November 2, 1996) was an American singer and musician known for her interpretations of jazz, folk, and blues music, sung with a powerful, emotive soprano voice. In 1992, she released her first album, The Other Side, a set of duets with go-go musician Chuck Brown, followed by the 1996 live solo album titled Live at Blues Alley. Although she had been honored by the Washington Area Music Association, she was virtually unknown outside her native Washington, D.C., at the time of her death from melanoma at the age of 33 in 1996. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eva_Cassidy

Eva Cassidy is one of our favorite singers, bar none. Exquisitely beautiful voice with a gift for conveying emotions and imagery.
I wish more had the chance to hear her music. We stumbled across her through a friend and were hooked.

(56 posts)5. Treat yourself to an hour listening to Eva
Without a doubt the best hidden gem of the 90s. A voice so smooth and strong like none other. Also, listen for her absolutely exquisite guitar accompaniment playing which is perfectly matched to her singing.
Sigh
what might have been.
