Steve Lukather plays "Little Wing" using Jeff Beck's Strat (Live and new)

Recorded during Toto's show at Hollywood Bowl on September 1, 2024.

Apparently it's true concerning the provenance of the Strat.

Before beginning the song, Lukather said: "I've got something special to do tonight. I normally don't play a white Stratocaster. This is a special one. This is Jeff Beck's guitar. His [Beck's] lovely wife Sandra and his closest friend and guitar tech brought this out, and they've been bringing it out to guitar players to put a little bit of love on it." He later added: "They asked a certain amount of guitar players, but they're just getting started. They asked Billy Gibbons, John Mayer and me, and they've probably got a long list. I wish this would make me sound like Jeff Beck, but it won't." -from Guitar.com

Lukather makes a few mistakes while covering the Jimi Hendrix classic, but that doesn't bother me in the least. Going out on a limb is where the real stuff happens.
