He or Johnny Griffith played on a million Motwin tunes.
Sometimes Earl would play piano while classically trained Johnny would play organ. You'll occasionally hear organ parts that have a fugue soubd, except it's in the pocket with the rhythm section.
Earl was more a feel player, Johnny was a technician.
They were both instrumental in sharpening Stevie's piano chops.
