My dad must have owned every HA and theTJB album, along with Sergio Mendes. Back "in the day" when us kids were sent to bed while the adults partied, guaranteed those vinyls came out. They knew we were sitting on the steps listening but as long as we chilled and didn't interrupt the party, all good. And I have the photos of those parties! Booze and ashtrays everywhere. But miraculously, there was usually breakfast cooked up the next morning. Those WWII vets could party hard.

I see so many great music recs here, I could spend all day responding! But there are some that just really hit home, like yours. I so appreciate all of you! I guess it helps that as the youngest of 6, I'm always like "OOHH, I love that song" even though it came out when I was 3!!!
