My friend & I were with these guys when they were at Chicago Recording Company cutting demos.
I knew 3 of the guys pretty well, but my friend was good friends with Frank Sullivan.
So, he had an open invitation anytime they were playing or recording. Since I wasn't a stranger, me coming along was no problem.
The demo is what Stallone heard & they went to LA to record the final version, so we weren't around for that.
The 2 guys who wrote the song made a ton of money off it. The other guys got points, but not much compared to Frank & Jim.
I still hear marching bands rehearsing this song when I've subbed at high schools.
