Great post Ruffin Tempations tune. Really like the movie documentary made about them also.

... West Side Farmers Market almost every Saturday. My Aunt lived on Bridge and one set of grandparents on 35th and Clark, the other set started on W 140th and Puritas, and then they moved to North Olmsted.

My Ohio Family started in Tiffin and Ashland.

... i went to Artemus Ward Elementry - right across the street of my grandparent's house.

I got to watch all of Captain Kangaroo in the morning and still be in class at the right time. I got home for lunch and got to see Captain Penny all the way through, and got to see all of Barnaby and all of Captain Penny. I had a marvelous childhood.

I finally got it that the park was not coming back when the roller coaster finally burned in the late sixties. BUT, if you kept going down the road, you nded up in one of the real jewels in the "Emerald Necklace" that is the Cleveland Metro Parks System.


I'd love to move back and had my snow adverse almost convinced whe we started looking at the Terminal Towers conversion apartment. Now we're waiting until Mango Jebus is out of the picture.

I'm old. Very old.

The Temps were increasingly annoyed at how much of the song was instrumental.
The guy who wrote it, arranged it, & originally recorded it also produced it. He wasn't about to give on hus arrangements.
It got bad enough that he got fired from the project. But, Gordy decided to finish it because they'd already rung up a lot of production costs.
And, he & Smokey calmed the Temps down and convinced them to let it ride.
The result of all that conflict was this incredible tune.
