Music Appreciation
Related: About this forumEleanor "Nora Jackson- A really great tune, with others on YouTube. No info anywhere about her. Is this AI? Who is she?
I really like this tune, and she has other good stuff posted on YouTube, but she's a mystery artist. I can't find any other info about her except for the YouTube songs. One of her YouTube postings features a picture of Etta James. It makes me suspicious that she's an AI configuration.
Who can give me a "Yes" or a "No" on this? I'm also cross-posting in the "Musicians" forum.

(59,684 posts)Music Appreciation. The odds are every single artist whose music has been posted here had their music stolen by AI companies.
Those behind the intellectual property theft to train the AI deserve the longest prison sentences the law permits, and their companies should be sued out of existence.
And the no-talent wannabes using AI to pretend they can create music, visual art and creative writing are frauds who should be labeled as such and deserve no respect and attention.
YouTube is drowning in AI slop.

The AI user should be reported to YouTube for not labeling synthetic content.
That non-artist non-label calling itself @ Crossroads Records Global (I inserted spaces there) is even using what look like AI prompts for the video description.
Crying harmonica solo that speaks directly to your heart
Weeping electric guitar with emotional bends and sustain
Deep rolling piano with gospel-influenced runs
Steady walking bass and dynamic drums (brushes to sticks)
45-second instrumental break that will give you chills
Give me chills? No. It makes me feel sick to my stomach to see this kind of AI fakery anywhere, trying to trick people into thinking it's real, while using tools trained on all the copyrighted music the AI company could steal. Those behind the IP theft should go to prison. And the frauds using AI to pretend it's something real deserve some sort of punishment as well.
Please delete that slop. I'd recommend the same for the thread you posted in Musicians.

Condemn the AI thieves. Don't condemn me.

(59,684 posts)all over the internet, and it's unfair to everyone who doesn't want this slop.
I'm condemning the robber-baron AI bros and companies, the AI proponents pushing everyone to use this harmful tech, and AI users who - though not responsible for the initial theft of artists' work - are committing fraud when they don't label AI results, and who are worsening the harm done to creatives whose work was stolen.
It would be so nice not to see more AI harm and fraud every day. All of us know how exhausting it is to hear, day after day, about the harm the Trump regime is doing. The AI peddlers aren't much (if any) better.
Again, I'm sorry. I appreciate your having asked if this was AI.
I've posted elsewhere about various clues that videos are AI generated, mentioning those clues in replies to specific videos that have fooled other DUers. I probably should put together something to pin to the top of the board, especially now that obvious flaws are less common.
