I like to listen to this song before or after Hot Fun in the Summer Time by Sly and the Family Stone.

I saw both bands live in 1974.

Yesterday

First rock concert was the last day of Soph year in high school, June 1973. Went with friends on the bus to International Amphitheater in Chicago. Headliner was Deep Purple, playing a set to match their Made in Japan album. The first group was a newer band called ZZ Topp.

Fortunately he showed up for the gig we attended. I don't remember much, as I was quite stoned. My friend Nadine turned and looked at me, then said "Marty, your eyes look like tomatoes."
