My son playing I'd rather go blind Etta James

Sitting on back porch with the dogs having coffee , listening to my son playing along on guitar with Etta James or lightin slim or big mama Thornton. And I'm thinking back to when I was his age of twelve, mr Walters turned me on to the blues. At that time growing up in Appalachia it was all steel mills and coal mines. mr Walters was a close friend of my grandfather they worked at the mill as my father did. One day at the house mr Walters picked up my guitar plugged it in and tossed out some blues riffs perhaps a few turnarounds cannot remember. And after that I was hooked , and mr Walters ended up with a student. And sitting listening to my son play along with music that has sent me on a fourty year quest exploring the fret board I am happy. That he is now on his own quest, in learning discovering what guitar holds.

I played along with an old album called "Guitar Boogie" day after day when I was learning. It was all old 12 bar blues featuring very early stuff from Clapton, Beck, and Page. What an education!
So glad to see the tradition continues

Did the same as you. Played along with it day-after-day.
