Dropping fender sss 69 pickups in aerodyne Stratocaster sunburst

I have never played a aerodyne Stratocaster and it’s actually awesome. Fret edge all around the body and neck something different from fender japan, they say it’s carved top I’m not sure what they mean if you compare it to a Les Paul.

What I see and feel is as fender strat the body is thicker and thins out at edges like any strat. The neck reads c profile to me it seems just a bit thicker in well I compared it to a 62 fender japan Stratocaster we have and a 78 greco strat japan. So in comparison it’s swag scientific wild ass guess on necks.

The single coils from factory sound great to me, although I do have a hearing aid. And the owner wants these 69’s Seymour Duncan’s in. So ok he’s a friend of our sons and a sixteen year old guitar slinger in search of tone as we all do. Tone quest and guitar is like making a meatloaf I told the young man let’s try this in the recipe so will drop in these Seymour 69’s.

I've got a pair of Aerodyne Jazz basses. Liked my first one so much I bought a fretless version with a Moses graphite neck.
Amazing instruments. It took Fender Japan a few years to get it right, but the post 2010 versions are astonishingly good.

claiming the lack of heft just didn't feel right or basswood is just too soft.
My neck and shoulders disagree. I love the thin body and lighter weight.

And the sound! I get more compliments and questions about how I'm getting such a nice tone even from those who don't care for my playing.

I was wondering about the thickness of the Aerodyne strat, how does it compare
to a standard? I've generally preferred rounded edges to binding for the ergonomic qualities.
Is there much difference in its' feel?

I've had my eye on a Epiphone Genesis for some time now. Shopping for a '79 edition but now I'm thinking I should get my hands on an Aerodyne strat before I commit.

Yes the aerodyne is slightly larger than my 62 mij. And with the Seymour 69’s to my ear has enhanced tone not as sharp like a regular strat perhaps it is basswood body I’m not sure. We all as players have preferences to me when it comes to sound I was always one in long neck tenon camp with my Les Paul’s my tokai it’s a 79. On strats I do prefer rosewood fretboard on my 62 reissue. Hope I answered your questions friend.

It certainly looks a little bigger in photos.
I'll have to keep an eye out as soon as it's safe for a guitar safari again.
