(9,776 posts)Loosen then pull the peg out a bit, scuff some chalk on there, tighten up.
I never really could play, but I remember that being shown to me.

(10,002 posts)make sure you rewind them them towards the scroll box. That will force the tapered pegs deeper into the holes.
Or it might be time to have your local shop do a check up. Sometimes adjustments along with new strings will make a huge difference.

(34,075 posts)She wants to keep them as she can play all kinds of instruments. Her focus is on the sax. I hate to spend much money on them, just flip them.
Ive bought and sold many many guitars, but have never found one I could play.

(780 posts)then put in a sealed, warm environment along with a wet sponge for a couple of days. Hydrating slightly should help.
Note: do not soak or let pegs directly contact water. Should help for awhile.
