I have known thousands of musicians over the years. In that entire pool of actively performing musicians, I have only known one who suffered dementia. And I have known many who were extremely vibrant mentally deep into their 80s, or even 90s.

I was joking. I've been playing music almost continuously, playing and singing, since I was a kid, and that was a long time ago.
It was a lame attempt at an old person joke, meaning ~ I'm not forgetting things because of dementia, it must be just because my poor brain is totally worn out from overuse, doing all that work playing and singing for many decades.
