Jades are easy to care for but won't tolerate overwatering. Worth a try if you're interested.

My thumbs have grown quite green over the decades. They didn’t start out that way, but Grandma Shorty had lots of African violets. Every year when we went to visit her in Rock Island, she’d help me pot one to take home, and send some extra leaves for me to root when I got home. She had violets of all colors, some plain, some ruffled, all beautiful. Eventually I got the hang of it.

Just this year I’ve finally managed to keep a pretty little columbine alive. That’s a first! And my outdoor garden is coming on strong now. 🌞
Jade plants are lovely, but I must confess, they haven’t survived for long for me before. From your post I bet I overwatered them.💦

A dear friend of my husband and myself was an expert in Bonsai; Kent sadly passed in 2007. He was a physicist and world traveler who had lived in Paris for many years. Some how, he was allowed to pack a few of his plants up with him on his flight to and from Paris. Perhaps they were carefully packed and shipped by express freight.
