Thistledown

Sow thistles and their seeds, taken in one of my flowerbeds this afternoon. It was a beautiful Autumn-like day.

Note: Russian thistle aka tumbleweed is an invasive species. In a botanic text I read, all thistles in North America are non-native.

Note also their relation to nettles, Ger. Brenserkraut. These are harmful to many animals.
