Greens and blues are definitely my colors. I have so many shirts in these colors! You can't really see in this photo, but my earrings coordinate too.

I'm not familiar with that stone, but I like the color and the way they're set. And I think they go well with my knit shirt.

And the perfect compliment to your green shirt. I’m not familiar with the stone, either,so you taught me something new! With your eye for color it’s no wonder you chose those particular earrings.

When Mr. Diamond and I went on our honeymoon, we drove across the country (only time I’ve ever been to California!). We took our time and stopped wherever something struck our fancy.

On the way out, we stopped in Rawlins, Wyoming, where there was a nice little park in the center of town that was the perfect place for us to stop and have some sandwiches for lunch out of our cooler. On the way back to our car, we passed a jewelry store that had the prettiest green earrings in the window - the sign said they were made from Wyoming jade. I just fell in love with them. Well my wonderful hubby bought them for me and I wear them still. It was quite a splurge for us because we didn’t have much money back then. 🙂

I joined the military in my 50s, with no prior service, at a time when I was the Undergraduate Research Coordinator and Director of the Honors Program in Biological Sciences at Stanford. Some of my colleagues were annoyed that I was professionally religious (I’d been ordained a priest before I began a PhD in that department in the 90s) and yet they couldn’t gainsay my credentials because I’d earned them in that department!

Oh, and while I was in Iraq in the middle of a war zone without a weapon, the bio department got rid of my position, so I left Iraq as just one more jobless vet. And while we’re talking ironies: I got my PhD in the lab of Robert Sapolsky, who’s lately been in the news for publishing his latest book, “Determined: A Science of Life Without Free Will.”

That must have been quite the experience!
