(24,906 posts)I hope you all had a wonderful day.
For me, it's just about time for one of my favority parts of the day. The evening turkey sandwich on home made bread. Sitting her now having some hot egg nog with brandy.

(156,969 posts)My husband and I feel very fortunate that we have such wonderful family. Our daughters have grown up and are now independent and living the life they want. Their children are thriving.
We had a wonderful day! And your evening turkey sandwich sounds scrumptious! As does hot egg nog with brandy! Yum.

CaliforniaPeggy
(156,969 posts)The Channel Islands are constantly changing and not always for the better. I do consider them a challenge!
I know full well how much I would miss California if I had to move.

CaliforniaPeggy
(156,969 posts)Actually, we're not related at all! Maybe by marriage; her oldest son and our oldest daughter are married. But they live far away and have no taste for travel.
Glad you enjoyed the photos! I had a blast taking them.

CaliforniaPeggy
(156,969 posts)You got that right! We're pretty far-flung so get-togethers like this one only happen a couple times of year.
We make the most of it!

(156,969 posts)Every day, I am grateful for how good my life has been, and still is. I've had terrible things happen, but all they do is remind me of how good everything else is.
It's a good way to see the world.
And we sure did have a wonderful day!

(7,158 posts)for sharing. How fortunate you are to have a family so
loving and supportive of you and one another.
Hopefully you can relax a little bit for the rest of the weekend!
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,969 posts)I think it goes back to marrying the right person who has helped me grow and learn. All else has come from that point.
Believe me, if I were any more relaxed, I'd be a puddle on the floor!
Today is mine, and I'm lovin' it.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
