with a shot taken this last March.

I had a hard time choosing and was ready to go with a different photo entirely--shades of blue-- until I decided to take one last look through this morning and found this shot.

It will be interesting to see how this goes. Will shades of blue or punch of blue prevail?

Third and last time!
So many shades of blue, as well as blue that dominates other colors. I rather like my final choice for that reason. Blue wave, indeed.

My shot is with ICM, Intentional Camera Movement with a Nikon Df, 500mm f/8(fixed) Catadioptric (mirror) lens with an ND64 neutral density filter, making the effective f/64+(I think), at 1/20 sec.

I took this last year, in February. The waves were good and I was able to catch this young surfer. I was thrilled to see what I could do.

I'm loving the entries! So many good ones already.

I have several in mind, several with water but don't want to be redundant with earlier entries.

On Edit I picked one!

so I entered a shot of a blue wave... literally!

The bioluminescence is going off now in Southern California, so I dragged my ass down to the beach to try and capture it. It may not be the highest quality, but it's definitely a blue wave.

Seeing a bioluminescent wave (in person) is on my bucket list - thanks for the preview!

When I was in grade school, there was a poem we had to memorize every September it seemed. I attended a over ten schools by the time I was in the sixth grade, military kid, and from second grade to the fourth grade, at every school, this poem was a feature early in the year. Later it was Robert Frost's "Stopping by a Snowy Wood" or whatever it is. Though I've thankfully forgotten the poem what always bothered me, from the beginning, was that I had no idea what a blue fringed gentian looked like and it wasn't until I moved to the mountains that I ever saw one.

Turns out, they grow in patches and fields/meadows! The largest patch I ever saw was at Divide Lake in Yellowstone NP.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening ~ Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

hehehehe "Triple- mint Gum!"

So not able to upload a photo for this month.
I probably wouldn't have found one as good as those posted anyway.

Edit:
Saw the thread was still opened. and was able to submit a photo.

Both the idea behind it, and the color blue in all its myriad shades and varieties. I haven't submitted anything to a contest in a while, but I couldn't skip this one!

It was one of the pics I took at the San Franscico Zoo (which was very disappointing). I did get some really nice pics while there, but the Zoo was a let-down.

Reminds me of the time I was scuba diving in Bequia. We encountered tons of jellyfish while following the anchor line down. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me, but then again, it gave me more time to experience this great event.
