I have a new slideshow gallery of a favorite type of photo where I catch the plane in a bank when the wing dips enough to give the impression we are flying alongside or close behind. Hope you enjoy: https://jamesdevore.smugmug.com/SPECIAL-SLIDESHOW/n-P57Kks

(9,360 posts)That seems to be a fan favorite for sure, only possible during certain times of the moon cycle, and only when the sun will illuminate the plane. Last month I was outside in 40 degree weather for a total of four hours, captured six photos, sadly none of which actually crossed the face of the moon. I do get another chance every month.

I don't know what I am looking at.

(57,435 posts)My USAF father flew C130s (and cargo planes) in Viet Nam during the war.
I had no idea they refueled helicopters.
I always think of sea rescue as done by the Navy.
This is such a great picture.

All those folks going someplace.
