Orange Pore Fungus

In (Aussie) winter I can't get out on the rocks at the beach and spend a lot of time in the bush with the dogs. Just this year I've seen a couple of instances of a beautiful little orange fungus that I hadn't seen before.

Well! Favolaschia calocera or the orange pore fungus is an invasive species that is displacing native fungi and apparently set to become a problem. Read about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favolaschia_calocera

But you must admit, it's pretty and photogenic.

And I love your composition, especially with the reflections. And the colors are great too.

That is worthy of hanging somewhere public!

Not reflections - it's on a twig about 1" round and they are on the bottom. They are really tiny.

I'm reading about the tree Metrosideros collina; that's definitely my tree. Makes sense now why no one around here knew what it was.
