Taken from my back deck, which is about 20' above the ground. The cat is in my next-door neighbor's yard. The final shot is an experiment. I was hoping to get a bat silhouetted by the moon.

(34,889 posts)He sat straight up on his hind legs for quite a while. I make sure my yard is free of rabbits before I let Sophie out (my yellow Lab) because shell go after them and I dont want any harm to come to them.
Ive never been able to get such a nice closeup as yours, though.

(5,273 posts)with Roddy McDowall? Loved that movie when I was a kid. Long time gone.
Thanks for sparing the rabbit the trauma of being chased!

(34,889 posts)I remember watching reruns of the TV series probably was on Saturday mornings in the mid 60s. MFF was a book, too.
Ive always been a rabbit lover and am a big fan of Watership Down, but Ive never seen any of the movies, I tend to prefer the book over the movie whenever applicable.

(5,273 posts)I enjoyed the 1978 film version of WD. I've re-read the book several times through the years and read it to my kids when they were in grade school.

(34,889 posts)I just loved that story. We always read to our kids, too. I dont know who enjoyed it more! They all turned into good readers. We used to read Highlights magazine stories to them a lot, and the Berenstain Bears.

(5,273 posts)That's the neighborhood cat. I'm not sure it has a home, but I've been seeing it from time-to-time since I moved into the house four years ago. It's a little ragged, but seems healthy. My cat's outdoor adventures are limited to the back deck, which is gated and too far off of the ground for her to escape.
Here's my Calliope.
