The 35mm lens comes closest to our natural field of view. Photos Ive taken with longer or wider lenses dont look quite as natural as those taken with my 35mm. The lens has a magnification ratio of 1:2 on a full-frame camera. Thats not true macro (1:1), but close enough to retain some fine details in a tightly-cropped photo.

It works well for just about anything I shoot, with the exception of birds and other distant and fast-moving wildlife. For that I rely on the 100-400mm.
