(103,812 posts)I stepped outside to see the afterglow, it's hot and smoky, and to see the crescent moon. What I enjoyed even more is that I finally saw my first bat for the summer, now that summer's over. It was just good to see one.

When I spot that incredibly brilliant tiny moon getting ready in moments to plunge over the horizon!
Such a tiny yet brilliant object can hold our attention to the neglect of all the rest is so remarkable.
