(41,040 posts)Until about 8 May, so yours were probably timed about right.. I was very glad to see them and it does look like there’s a nest nearby. I just hope they’re successful.

(18,562 posts)A flash can freeze motion too. If it's bright enough you can set your shutter speed and ISO for quality and still freeze them. 1/250, ISO 100

(7,766 posts)why in the world would someone use a flash on a bright day. I've learned to appreciate fill flash, but I'd no idea about freezing motion this way. Thanks!

(7,378 posts)There were less seen this year. It is theorized that with continuous SE winds with fewer N wind days, that they didn’t stop here, but just kept on flying.

(41,040 posts)There’s at least one male and one female that come here all the time. I think there is a nest nearby. I hope the Blue Jays haven’t raided it. They were definitely late showing up this year and not nearly as many they usually peak out at about July, when the babies are fledging
