Dispute pulls CBS off the air for DirecTV customers
July 20, 2019
NEW YORK (AP) A business dispute took CBS off the air for millions of satellite television customers of DirecTV and AT&T U-verse on Saturday.
CBS was black on satellite systems owned by AT&T in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and at least 11 other large cities across the United States. Both the television network and AT&T hurled accusations at each other for failure to agree on what CBS is paid for programming.
CBS said that while it didnt want its customers caught in the middle, it is determined to fight for fair value. The network warned that the loss of CBS programming could last a long time.

I have my local CBS station, but not the CBSSN channel.
I have over the air CBS, plus two other channels that aren't on my cable anyway.

cable, internet, phone ... and soon, streaming.

(7,629 posts)6. Since AT&T
bought out Direct TV they have had no issue with getting paid a whole lot more. I'll bet what CBS is asking pennies while AT&T increases bills by fives and tens.

(62,646 posts)8. Keying error: I keyed in "January" for "yesterday" AP date. The correct date is July 20, 2019.
I like to replace relative time with the eventual permanent date they will use in a few days time. "January" was a mistake. You can check the link for yourself.
