I've been watching Evil on CBS. It's wonderful.

Scary at times. Most of the "supernatural" stuff can be explained by psychology, but the show also has little hints of things that happen that cannot be explained with psychology or technology. Excellent stories. Last night's was heartbreaking.

hard to do horror right...but it's like a horror version of X-Files or the truly wonderful Fringe (actually it's more like Fringe in that the cast has this immediate chemistry and the acting is top notch).

I do think they've made the main two characters a little TOO emotional/earnest. I know they are trying to build a romance between the two in order to indicate "sin" or "flaws" (she's married, he's studying to be a priest) but to me it just seems very obvious that they are well matched and it seemed very obvious from the start that....

Her husband wasn't going to be in the picture for long one way or the other. No confirmation yet of course, but they are telegraphing it with flashing lights.

Last night's story with Rose 390 (name mean anything?) telling the girls to ask the ouija about their dad was freaky.

in Catholicism, represents Mary.

So I suspect the demon? or human pretending to be a demon interacting with them choose that because they thought it would seem innocuous to a bunch of little Catholic girls.

The only problem with the episode is these aren't dumb kids, they realize right away there's something wrong here, and they shouldn't have gone forward. That they did anyways is the only flaw in the episode.

there is already so much horror in our real lives. Maybe I made a mistake.

but not so much with the others. Next week's show involves an exorcism, though.

I would start with episode 1 online.

It's scary and one of the best-written shows on free TV these days.

The book was terrifying at times when the priest would have a perfectly rational explanation for what was going on and then... uh-oh!

The book, of course had demons behind it all, but we don't quite know how this one is going to go. They've got a whole season to tease us, though.

I fear the other psychologist is going to try to do great harm to Kristen and her girls. He's truly evil. A bad person.

And the question is open whether he is demonic or just a really bad guy.

Let's see if they can keep it up.

Was really glad to see he made the leap to network.

I can't recall the lead actress' name, but she had a great secondary role on Westworld as well, so I was glad to see her get something high profile like this as well.
