Watching METV

they have gone through their M.A.S.H. syndication and have restarted with the first season this week.
The first season really pushed the envelope about important issues. After that the series became one long laugh track.
Although I really like the episodes with Dr. Sidney Freeman, which showed a side of war that is not often talked about.

when I come across it on tv when multitasking. I don't care that they got a little sappy and preachy. Alan Alda can do no wrong in my book.

I'd forgotten many segments and jokes over the years since they'd been removed in favor of more commercials.

The CIA guy Colonel Flagg cracks me up. He sat next to Klinger at a poker game and said, "Hey, up close you're a guy" and Klinger replied, "Far away too".

The further it goes along in the series, the less I like it. Seasons 1-3 (the Stevenson/Rogers years) are the best. Seasons 4 & 5 have Larry Linville, so they're pretty good. Seasons 6 & 7 are watchable. After season 8 when Radar leaves is unwatchable.
