Joy Behar taking time off from 'The View' due to coronavirus concerns

Joy Behar, co-host of ABC’s “The View,” is taking some leave due to concerns over the coronavirus, Variety reported Thursday.

Behar, 77, reportedly announced that she would be taking time off from the show at a Thursday taping of an episode that will run Friday. Like several other live shows, "The View" has chosen to not allow studio audiences until the spread of the virus subsides.

“I’m in a higher risk group because of my age, but I’m perfectly healthy,” Behar said. “I don’t look my age, but I’m actually up there. The number makes me dizzy.”

Neither Behar nor any of the staff on the talk show have tested positive for the virus, and the remaining co-hosts — including Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain and Sunny Hostin — will continue to appear.
