I am noticing their homes/offices since this is a new environment or "set design". I heard a dog barking and a camera man saying loudly, "SHHHHHH!!!!!". No babies crying or kids running by, not yet anyway. I wonder if they are dressing nicely from the waist up and in PJs on the bottom half. I am also finally seeing public service announcements and care tips on the cable stations CNN and MSNBC. Even the "little things" are different now.

(28,604 posts)I usually look for books, but a friend noticed that the President of Tufts seemed to be broadcasting from his laundry room.

(52,266 posts)My little, dead but still bright and sparkly Christmas tree is still up. Some people are actually putting them back up again for a cheery change from the depressing virus atmosphere. My neighbor put his outside lights back up and I have seen people on the news doing the same thing.

(92,732 posts)NYT writers' puppy entered the room the other night, it was cute but didn't seem to notice what was going on. The late night guys have interesting backgrounds too.
And I'm hearing a lot of jokes about not wearing pants. Jimmy Kimmel says you should put on pants at least once a week.
I've noticed that some have fireplaces and some are in the kitchen.
And FWIW, some of the local NPR hosts are hosting from what they say are their individual bedroom closets, probably to avoid echos.

(15,625 posts)If they're at a desk or in front of a green screen that shows them from the knees up, they're in sneakers. If they have to go over to a group of chairs, they put on their nice shoes which are hidden behind their desks. I guarantee most of them are doing all they can to be as comfortable as possible, and if they're smart, they've had their prop departments make a jacket, white shirt, tie costume that they slip on the front and have someone else tie in the back like in this skit. What Conan is wearing is how I described it. He even puts it on a few minutes into the skit.

(52,266 posts)I think they switched his suit into a real one later in the skit. I like Conan a lot...very sharp.

(12,887 posts)Michelle Goldberg is in a very small town in New York State. David Corn has an exercise bike (no clothes hanging on it -- at least while the camera was on!) and a guitar. Cool!
