Recent chapter of Atlantic Crossing - *SPOILER*

It ends with FDR is bypassing the neutrality act by "loaning" instead of giving or selling military equipment to European countries.

His announcement is carried live on TV (was there TV in 1940?) in the streets. And immediately the mob starts yelling: America First, America First..

Has nothing changed in 80 years?

Turns out there were thousands of (expensive) sets in 1941 - almost all in NYC and some in Chicago - and broadcasts.
This series is so well done and from what I've read historically accurate. I didn't know the story but it is fascinating and very well written and acted. I think Kyle McLaughlan is doing a great job as FDR.

We streamed the entire series last week on the roku. I think my wife made a donation to PBS that made that possible. FDR certainly had a very close relationship with Princess Martha of Norway. That is historical fact.
