If so - what the hell is that show about? Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys?
I don't understand what is going on in that show.

(24,059 posts)It keeps me guessing, and I like that. Basic premise the governments of Britain and US are trying to obtain (and control) all the debris from a foreign spacecraft and keep all information about this highly classified because it causes really weird deadly things to happen and there's a group of "terrorists" that are trying to obtain these and say they want to share this information with everyone and make it widely available for the world. The governments are not being honest brokers and are lying to their main agents in this and now the agents have realized this and don't know what their governments are up to.

(68,189 posts)They're burying the narrative pretty deep, but it seems like a race against time for two factions to acquire most or all of the debris from the crashed alien ship.
They want to harness the technology exhibited by even small pieces of debris, and the underlying question is: what would the entire, re-assembled ship do?
The factions are divided, not always clearly, between good guys who want the tech to benefit humankind, and bad guys who want the tech in order to dominate humankind.
Most of the episodes are built around how a certain specific piece of debris has affected the lives of ordinary civilians who came into contact with it. Those are the interesting, compelling episodes. The episodes that just have a lot of serious talk with dark undertones are boring, and make me want to stop watching.

(24,001 posts)dwell on personal issue(s) somewhat much (the British agent and her Dad the scientist), etc.
I'm wondering about how many millions of pieces will they find and if they'll even ever get a partial reconstruction of the original alien spacecraft, and will we ever see what the aliens actually looked like, etc., if they are any (space craft could have been a robotic craft, thus no actual live aliens)...will be interesting to see what happens in the future...

(25,861 posts)it will last only one season and we'll never get any satisfaction as to how things worked out.
I've gotten hooked on too many of these SciFi shows that one never gets any resolution because they are cancelled for lack of an audience.
Some of those other shows were even more compelling than this one. I don't see Debris lasting more than this season.
The powers that be at the networks that make decisions on these shows have no patience to let their shows develop.
If it doesn't catch on like the show 'Lost' - they'll cancel it after the first season.

(18,272 posts)..or that one with halle barry and her droid child. I couldnt even get excited about Stranger Things.. the young teen love story is too icky and that young woman.. named 11. i just couldnt.....
Lost was the first show I binge watched and if you dont get a week in between episodes it got very repetitive and kinda kooky at the end.
I just stick with british sitcoms now

(18,272 posts)Been enjoying it so far, but not invested. Its better than Manifest, which alternates between barely watchable and utterly stupid. I dont know why I keep watching it at this point, except Im just curious enough to see if there will be any answers.

(28,394 posts)It reminded me of X-Files a little, with a new unexplained event every week. I also like Fiona, but I think they jumped the shark by bringing in her father. I cant understand a word he says. It has just become incomprehensible IMO.

(15,026 posts)Unless I learn that a coherent plot has been developed, I won't watch it again.
I gave up on "Lost" pretty early for the same reasons. Then I asked questions about that show after the series was over, among coworkers who stuck with it, which provided confirmation that I made the correct choice for myself.

(62,193 posts)mixed in with the good guys. I guess it's about which culture gets to figure out and manipulate the power the debris can bring. Aside from that, I'm lost.
