Meghan McCain Lashes Out at Whoopi Goldberg on 'The View': "Why Are You Cutting Me Off?"

Tensions continue to flare over at The View after a week of heated on-air arguments. Today, it was Meghan McCain and Whoopi Goldberg who clashed during a segment about Marjorie Taylor Greene’s comments comparing a mask mandate in the House to the Holocaust. As McCain shifted the conversation away from her party and refused to stop for a commercial break, Goldberg tried in vain to shut her co-host down so the show could continue as scheduled.

It all began when McCain insisted she’s no fan of Greene, but argued Republicans have done more to strip the congresswoman of her power than Democrats did after Rep. Ilhan Omar’s comments about Israel “hypnotizing” the world. Turning the discussion away from Greene and toward a recent spike in antisemitic attacks against Jewish people, McCain said, “This was all happening last week, and I would love if the energy that is being put on one crazy woman in Congress — and by the way, if [Greene] is the face of the Republicans, then The Squad is the face of the Democrats — I would love Democrats to put that same type of energy onto what’s happening on the left.”

As McCain complained that the media “just want Marjorie Taylor to look bad,” Goldberg could be heard audibly sighing. “Antisemitism is a huge problem everywhere in this country,” McCain continued, as Goldberg agreed, “Yes, it is,” seemingly interjecting in hopes of bringing the show to its first commercial break. McCain carried on with her commentary as Goldberg tried to wrap up her segment while agreeing with McCain before eventually forcing the show to commercial. “We’re going to break and when we come back you can continue talking, but now we’re going to break, so we’ll be right back,” Goldberg said.

As she put an abrupt end to McCain’s comments, the conservative co-host yelled over her, “Why are you cutting me off?” Goldberg snapped back, “I’m cutting you off cause we have to go, Meghan! Why do you think I’m cutting you off?”
