Anyone Watching 'LaBrea"? & A Comment On 'New Amsterdam'....

I took in the pilot and wasn't impressed. It's another one of those SciFi programs that they try and hook you on and then cancel before they really reveal any kind of resolution.

I've been stung many times before on these SciFi's and I'm not going to be taken in again. This one seems to be poorly written. Dialogue sucks. Just don't think it will last the season.

The latest was 'Manifest'. I found that show compelling - but we'll never see any kind of explanation or resolution. Cancelled!!!

Also - a side comment on 'New Amsterdam'. I really don't like to watch medical shows - but this one drew me in. I like the 'social conscience' the show portrays. Unfortunately, they have jumped the shark this season. They have introduced 'romance' into basically all the main characters roles - and they are ruining this show.

We don't need another 'romantic soap'. I'm beginning to lose interest in this show because of the direction that they've taken it in this season.

That said, I feel the same about nearly all new shows. I don't watch "reality" tv at all, but any dramas in particular, I am hesitant to get started watching. Obviously, that adds to a vicious cycle--not enough ratings or "buzz," then leads to early cancellation. But, I've been burned many times myself. Even if I want to start streaming a show on Amazon Prime or elsewhere, I usually check to see if all seasons are available and if there are issues about cancellation without a REAL series finale.

to continue.

I’m not a big stress-lover. Even the fictional kind. Life is hard enough. Why choose to steep yourself in more? NO THANK YOU!!!!!

Husband wanted to see what it was all about. Even he got tired of the constant “MUST amp it up for the sake of more amping it up!!! Keep ‘em on the edge of their seats!” stuff. Gets mighty tiresome, and mighty quickly.

La Brea was pretty awful but I'm hopeful I can watch to mock it like I did Manifest (which is getting a final season on Netflix).

of programming on the three majors has degraded in the last few years. And don't get me started on the never ending story lines that try and hook you in. I remember when the new season shows were highly anticipated.

I knew where it was going without knowing where it was going and wasn't about to get on that bus(t).

No thanks, those shows aren't getting any better despite the hype.

It seemed very repetitious of similar shows like Manifest, Debris, Zoo, etc., etc. The bits with the prehistoric creatures are pretty juvenile. IMO. I’m waiting for a dinosaur! Don’t know if I’ll watch any more of it. TBD
