Related: About this forumStar Trek Picard final Season 3 cast announcement
Executive producer Terry Matalas is the sole showrunner for season three, which wrapped up filming last month. In the announcement, Matalas said of season three
I remember watching the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation almost 34 years ago with my father like it was yesterday. It was the spark that ignited my love for science fiction. So, its most fitting that the story of Jean-Luc Picard ends honoring the beginning, with his dearest and most loyal friends from the U.S.S. Enterprise. It would be an understatement to say that giving these characters a proper send-off is an honor. The entire Star Trek: Picard team and I cant wait for fans to experience this final, high-stakes, starship-bound adventure in season three!

(31,798 posts)1. Release date scheduled for February 16, 2023. This will be better than Season 2 ...
because Season 2 was about as bad as could possibly be. I think it was the poorest production, from a writing and continuity perspective, of any Star Trek endeavor yet attempted.
Terry Matalas has an opportunity to go out on a higher note.
