I won't spoil.
But God it's so weird seeing the Breaking Bad saga end after 14 years. But this ended the best it could for Saul. Just incredible writing from Vince Gilligan. And Bob Odenkirk is a legendary actor.
Now I shall go cry. Not because it's over. But because it happened.

(10,790 posts)I was waiting until I could watch the whole thing without pause. I'm glad it will be worth the wait.

(7,962 posts)I thought the Gene segments were a bit too much in the lead up to the finale, but overall it was really good and the finale was the best episode of the series. Also, Peter Gould wrote the finale.

(7,962 posts)Maybe one segment and part of another would have been enough. Going into the minutiae of the scams seemed to me to be stretching and maybe too artsy but I wouldn't call it confusing. A bit like the fly episode from BB. Some might like it and some not. It definitely did not turn me off overall to one of the best shows on tv for five seasons.

(5,170 posts)It showed him slipping back into Saul and that set up, rather nicely, his remorse at the end and him saving Kim.
But, I think the fly episode from BB was genius and probably my favorite episode, so filter through that.

It was perfection. I didn't know how they would be able to pull it off but they did!
What an amazing show. I'll miss the "Breaking Bad Universe."

(21,750 posts)Was the way he could make things right. In the end he was living with an immense amount of guilt. So much so that he thought he'd be happier spending the rest of his life in prison than getting out in just 7 years.
Not sure when he changed his mind about the plea, people seem to think that it was when he learned Kim might be sued, but someone on another board pointed out that he would have been fine in ADX Colorado as he knew he'd be a celebrity there. That's where he'd want to end up. And he was there for what looked like not very long and already had a good gig baking bread in the kitchen, those types of gigs in prison are hard to come by.
I think he could have found other ways to protect Kim. He just wanted her in court to hear him confess, do what was right, and come out as Jimmy.
She was amazing. After the episode where Howard died, it was really just tying up loose ends, it was bound to be a little bit of a let down after all of the Cartel/Gus/Mike business was concluded.
