I enjoyed the first season of the reboot. I'm actually not a fan of the original series, I watched it here and there but never regularly. For better or worse, the reboot had the perfect setup for endless "missions of the week". There was promise of a longer backstory arc, however it moved painfully slow and was mostly window dressing. In the finale, that arc finally started to move quickly which created a bit of a pacing problem. The puzzle pieces had become a bit ragged and didn't all quite fit together. However, there was resolution to a few things and then we were left with something of a frustrating cliffhanger. So, it was good but not great.

(1,372 posts)This version of Quantum Leap is way better than the original and it's not even close..
ANAHEIM, Calif. When it was announced that 1990s series Quantum Leap, which ran for five seasons on NBC, would be rebooted, expectations were high. The original series, while ratings challenged, was a beloved cult favorite.
Still, it looks like the reboot which airs its season 1 finale on April 3 and was quickly renewed for a second season has more than met the challenge.
I dont like reboot or any of these terms, said executive producer Dean Georgaris on March 25 at the shows panel at WonderCon in Anaheim, Calif. 2022 needs Quantum Leap. Thats why its back. ...

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - A star from NBCs Quantum Leap will serve as Grand Marshal for this years Military Appreciation Days Parade in Myrtle Beach.
The city announced Wednesday that Caitlin Bassett will serve in the role for the parade, set to take place May 27.
Bassett, who plays Addison Augustine on Quantum Leap, is an Army veteran herself, having served seven years as an intelligence analyst and completed three combat deployments while attaining the rank of staff sergeant.
She also worked at the National Security Agency before being honorably discharged in 2015. After earning a degree in legal studies and heading to law school, she moved to New York and later pursued acting.
Bassetts father, a Vietnam War veteran, lives in Myrtle Beach and will also sing live during the scheduled picnic at Valor Memorial Garden.
Im so excited to be included in this wonderful memorial alongside my father, Caitlin said. Im incredibly honored to have the opportunity to join the Military Appreciation Days celebrations with the great community of Myrtle Beach.

Really like season 2 so far. The 3 year jump into the future and all of it..
During this interview with Collider, showrunners Martin Gero and Dean Geogaris talked about how the three-year time jump came about, throwing a wrench into the Ben/Addison relationship, the advantage theyd had in going straight into shooting Season 2 once Season 1 had wrapped, how they pulled off shooting their midseason finale in Egypt, how Taylor and her character Hannah Carson (who we meet in Closure Encounters) will fit into this season, getting Tim Matheson to guest star, why it took nearly three months to shoot their first episode of the season, and how theyre laying the groundwork for what they think is an amazing Season 2 finale...

(1,372 posts)Could we see the return of Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula)?
TVLine proposes that possibility. I doubt it. Having read some recent interviews from Bakula he basically closes the door on that talk. I'd guess if Ben and Sam return home that Sam would be played by someone other than Scott Bakula

There was frequent speculation during the MacGyver reboot of a possible appearance by Richard Dean Anderson. RDA always shot those rumors down even while the producers kept the possibility open. He stuck to that and never returned.
