Wathced the finale of Perry Mason and I really don't know why "they" had to use this title (Original Post) question everything Apr 2023 OP
What title? Unless we'd also seen the show we can't know what this is about. Ocelot II Apr 2023 #1

My understanding is this current darker version is more true to the books. hlthe2b Apr 2023 #4

I've read a huge anthology of the Perry Mason stories and I saw nothing dark like the new series. marble falls Apr 2023 #6

I've not read them, so I can't say for sure. But, I like the show.

That series predates me by a few years, but I know many here are/were fans. I tried watching it once. I recorded episodes from MeTV which airs it a couple of times per day. From the episodes I saw, the plot always seemed to hinge on some hysterical female losing her shit on the stand while Perry berated her. The new series is light years beyond that nonsense. In it, Della is every bit the equal of Perry, shining in court or thinking quickly on her feet, and he (grudgingly) acknowledges that. This second season started off a bit shaky, and I worried it would not live up to the first season, but it came through.
