Drew Barrymore isnt bringing back her daytime talk show The Drew Barrymore Show until the strike ends, after all. The decision comes a week after the actor was criticized for saying The Drew Barrymore Show would premiere on Sept. 18 in compliance with WGA guidelines and without writers.
I have listened to everyone, and I am making the decision to pause the shows premiere until the strike is over, she wrote on Instagram. I have no words to express my deepest apologies to anyone I have hurt and, of course, to our incredible team who works on the show and has made it what it is today. We really tried to find our way forward. And I truly hope for a resolution for the entire industry very soon.
We support Drews decision to pause the shows return and understand how complex and difficult this process has been for her, a spokesperson for CBS Media Ventures told Variety in a statement.

has been on during the strike. I just assumed they didnt have writers. It seems to me they agree on what to talk about beforehand and go from there. In the beginning they acknowledged the writers strike almost every day. Now its maybe once a week. Barrymore show was a little different and knew that they must have had writers. The other show on CBS the talk, have never really watched it.

the union allows members to host daytime shows, and she wasn't going to include any segments that involved writers, but most people didn't understand this, so the optics looked bad, even though she was within the guidelines.
