2. Personally, I think it's just corny. If I were in charge, I'd hire songwriters....

Then, there is the recognizing factor, as well as the current wave of nostalgia... oh yeah, this is far from a shocker.

Also, the library is owned by someone other than the Beatles. They make that decision. I am betting the current owners are not artists.

Now, I agree with you completely. But, around 50 or so years back the entertainment industry became the entertainment business.

Thanks to that, there is little more than greed in any 'artistic endeavor' these days. So, one can forget any loyalty to the art or the creator.

She does a lot on Zoom now (or something more secure)
Oh yeah..she has the entertainment business pat. Singers and such are corporate You-WILL-do-this.
The days of finding a wonderful talent (s) are WAY long gone.
What surprised me was there's only a few songwriters that write all the major songs. No wonder they sound like copies.
Her take is "Dumb down the populace....make it easy-peasy to exploit them". Screw that Classical complicated crap"
BUT..I'm sure you know even more than what I wrote. (I don't talk much about this topic to people)
I don't even balk when somebody says "OH!! (insert big star here)....she wrote a new song!!...Yeah...sure....

and the drivers had regulars who they took to the store once a week to get medicine and groceries. Probably most of these people are old and others are on disability. Maybe they are trying to appeal to the older customers.

so who knows. The commercial, however, actually appears to be the Beatles recording of the song. The rights to Beatles recordings are owned by Apple Corps Ltd. and Vivendi Universal Music Group. SOMEBODY had to give permission to use the song and recording in the commercial.
