The Krofft Superstar Hour is a Saturday morning children's variety show, produced by Sid and Marty Krofft. After eight episodes, the show was renamed The Bay City Rollers Show. It aired for one season from September 9, 1978 to January 27, 1979 on NBC. NBC also ran other repeat Krofft shows in an unrelated umbrella titled slot, Krofft Superstars, from 1978 to 1985.
Background
The show is essentially a reworking of The Krofft Supershow, replacing the fictitious band "Kaptain Kool and the Kongs" with the real life Bay City Rollers. Just as on the previous show, the Rollers would perform comedy skits and musical numbers, and introduce the live action segments. The Bay City Rollers' segment also featured a character called Mr. Munchy in the main segment.
The regular live-action segments were "Horror Hotel" and "The Lost Island". Also included were reruns of "Magic Mongo" from the original Supershow. The show was cut back to 30 minutes after it was renamed The Bay City Rollers Show, and "The Lost Island" and "Magic Mongo" were dropped. The skits with the Rollers generally featured cameos by characters from other Sid and Marty Krofft shows, including Enik and the Sleestak from Land of the Lost, various characters from H. R. Pufnstuf, and Dr. Shrinker (now renamed Dr. Deathray) and his assistant Hugo (now renamed Otto).

Shang-a-Lang (TV series)
Related: The Krofft Superstar Hour
Shang-a-Lang was a children's pop music TV series starring the Scottish band, the Bay City Rollers. It was produced in Manchester by Granada Television for the ITV network and ran for one 20-week series in 1975.
It featured the band in comedy sketches and performing their songs to a live studio audience made up of their teenage fans. This resulted in chaotic scenes at times as some members of the audience attempted to run onto the studio floor to meet their heroes, resulting in security officers having to forcibly restrain or even eject them from the studio.
Guest stars performing their latest releases and hits included Cliff Richard, Marc Bolan, Lynsey de Paul, Lulu, David Cassidy, Linda Lewis, Gary Glitter, Olivia Newton-John, Slade, Sparks, Alvin Stardust, Showaddywaddy, The Rubettes, Alan Price and Gilbert O'Sullivan and The Marionettes.
The show's theme song "Shang-a-Lang", was a hit single for the group, peaking at number 2 in 1974 in the UK Singles Chart.

The first episode of "The Krofft Superstar Hour" which aired on 9/9/78.
It features The Bay City Rollers performing as well as Kaptain Kool and the Kongs, and the skits "Horror Hotel" and "The Lost Island" which feature characters from other Krofft media like Witchiepoo and Pufnstuf from H.R Pufnstuf, HooDoo and Weenie from Lidsville, Sigmund from Sigmund and the Seamonsters and, of course, Enik and the Sleestak from Land of the Lost.
This is truly a piece of history, especially as this particular version of the Krofft's Varity show was the second iteration (after "The Krofft Supershow" ) and only lasted in this format for 8 episodes before moving onto the third iteration named "The Bay City Rollers Show".
This same episode was already uploaded to youtube by The Media Hoarder a few months back, but not in this high of quality, so I figure I should still post.
Sadly (to my knowledge) this is the only full episode that is not lost to time, or at the least the only episode to be uploaded to the internet. This show has also never received a proper home media release of any kind so the likelihood of collectors having other episodes is slim.
If anyone does have any other full episodes of the Krofft Superstar Hour that feature the segments (Especially The Lost Island) Please get into contact with me at:
