One of the oldies tv networks has been airing The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.
I have just a vague recollection of the series when it came out. Now that I have watched a few episodes it was pretty good. In fact it makes me wonder if the show Firefly borrowed heavily from Brisco?
Speaking of Firefly and Brisco .. prior to making that comparison I thought the 2 stars of those shows would have worked well in another show set in space like Firefly.
Even though I like Scott Bakula, one change I would have made to Star Trek: Enterprise, would have been to replace Bakula with a Bruce Campbell or a Nathan Fillion. Someone that would have added a little more humor and personality to the Capt Archer character.

(2,056 posts)it did take an interesting turn in the second season. Firefly was really great. I wish that it had had several more seasons. Even without the incredible special effects we have today that was a golden era of sci-fi. But I love Blake's 7 and Starcops too.

(4,325 posts)What channel is showing it? I don't see it popping up on my tv schedule... also, do you know if it's streaming on any channels? Would LOVE to go through it all over again. Only problem is... just like with Firefly... it didn't last long enough.
I agree with whoever said Fillion would have made a good Archer for ST:Enterprise. I love Nathan Fillion in everything I've seen him in, even Castle!
It airs locally for me on the Outlaw Channel which is part of the H & I Network
Brisco and Lord Bowler's uneasy alliance becomes strained when they ride to northern Nevada to capture Blackbeard and his gang of pirates.

Not sure if it's streaming anywhere. If you want to go another old school route I know my library has it on DVD. Libraries are a pretty good resource for some older more obscure tv series.

(4,325 posts)Not available right now. H & I Network is our most watched network (other than BBC America) in this household, so if it hits nationwide, we'll be sure to see it... thanks for the heads up!
