Congresswoman-elect Ansari: First Iranian-American Democrat in history to serve in the House
Huge congratulations to @yassaminansari, who was elected to the U.S. Congress in Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District.
Congresswoman-elect Ansari will be the first Iranian-American Democrat in history to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The only other Iranian-American in Congress was also the first Iranian-American ever to serve in Congress,
@stephaniebice who is a Republican.
In Iran, 60 percent of university graduates are women, and 70 percent of university graduates in STEM fields are women.
No matter where they live or what conditions they live under, Iranian women accomplish remarkable things.
Here’s to the day when the women of Iran will truly have full freedom in all areas of their lives.
