I see Arkansas' elected Republicans are following the ALEC plan.

Now, it's cutting taxes for the Waltons. I'd bet 99% of the population would rather see the complete end to taxing food. Or the end of taxes on services like dry cleaning. etc. Or the tax on used cars.

And yes, I'd like to see a complete end to the food tax (although at least it's not as high as the regular tax). But given who controls the legislature now (how the freak did that happen?), they'll probably say, "Hey, we can regain that lost revenue by taxing food at the higher rate!"

I had the privilege of attending informal talks that they gave-- Bumpers at Little Flock, Pryor at Springdale-- and I was proud that they were representing Arkansas in the Senate.
