The Arkansas Democratic Party has sent a mass e-mail concerning House Bill 1204. The e-mail is blatantly untrue.

HB 1204 seeks to change the law in Arkansas that personal injury plaintiffs can recover medical bills that have been neither paid nor remain owing - bills that have been written-off.

The state party's e-mail contains a list of horrors, none of which are true. I suspect the state party simply took the text given them by a plaintiff's lawyer without reading the bill.

I e-mailed the state party about the untrue statements in the mass e-mail. So far no response but hope springs eternal.

Democrats should stand for truth. The Republicans have the misinformation market cornered.

The bill can be found at https://arkleg.state.ar.us/Home/FTPDocument?path=%2FBills%2F2025R%2FPublic%2FHB1204.pdf

Or is it dis/misinfo?

Hard to trust a lot stuff. I would be highly suspicious considering how easy it is to hack certain platforms owned by certain persons.

I am dismissing all claims that Ds are saying or doing shit that is not like them or suddenly in opposition to stated values previously.

I receive e-mails from the state party all the time. The party has not said the e-mail was somehow not real.

This really should not be a partisan issue. Under current Arkansas law, a plaintiff can recover medical bills that have been written-off after the plaintiff's insurance has paid. Juries are lied to about the medical bills and there is nothing defendants can do about it. Plaintiff's should recover the medical bills that are either paid or still owed, but not amounts that are neither paid nor owed. It's really a matter of simple fairness.

Someone at the state party simply regurgitated what a plaintiff's lawyer told them without troubling to read the very short and simple bill.

The state party continues to ignore my e-mail. It seems that the opinions of life-long Democrats who are tort defense lawyers are unimportant.
