(15,805 posts)banks of mailboxes sit on roadsides with little traffic. Mailbox thieves will clean out the boxes and maybe weeks later someone out riding their horse might find a pile of envelopes dumped in the brush off a road.
I don't know what they are looking for but it must payoff big enough so they keep robbing the mailboxes.

(10,565 posts)and have to deliver within a certain amount of time, so destruction of postal by Trump is going to have more instances of this? I was thinking about this hearing of a similar incident in the NE.

(2,175 posts)They're the ones who are futzing with the election apparatus on multiple levels to keep us from voting for Democrats. Starting at the very top with DeJoy. If I am reading this correctly -- and somebody please correct me if I am not -- this is much more likely to be somebody who's trying to fix the election in that orange con man's favor, especially in California. Keep people from voting in California and you're much more likely to be messing up Democratic votes.

(48,041 posts)The "mischief" reminds me of Roger Stone and/or James O'Keefe of Project Veritas.
All you'd have to do is to reproduce the template of absentee ballots, put someone's name and wrong address and return envelope, make about 10,000 of them, and then put them in a dumpster where they'd be discovered. Getting names from local voters rolls could be accomplished if you said you needed them for phone banking.
I think this is a set-up, not voter fraud.
